π How to Use This Tool
This tool offers two powerful modes to help you create safe, accurate patient letters from clinical notes.

β¨ Generate Letter Mode
Transform clinical medical notes into warm, patient-friendly letters using AI.
Step 1: Upload Your Medical Notes
Drop a file in the box below or click to browse. Accepted formats: .txt, .docx, or .pdf files (maximum 10 MB).
Step 2: Review & Customize Formatting
Check your notes and adjust formatting rules to match your preferences:
- Letter Length: Choose between 200-600 words
- Tone: Select Professional, Warm & Empathetic, or Casual & Friendly
- Detail Level: Brief (essentials only), Balanced (with context), or Comprehensive (full explanations)
- Bullet Point Usage: None (all paragraphs), Minimal (one section), or Frequent (multiple sections)
- Sentence Structure: Concise (10-15 words), Moderate (15-20 words), or Flowing (20-25 words)
- Paragraph Length: Maximum sentences per paragraph (1-10)
Quick Presets Available:
- Quick Scan: 200 words, concise, professional (for busy patients)
- Balanced: 350 words, warm tone, brief details (recommended default)
- Detailed: 600 words, comprehensive explanations (for complex cases)
Step 3: Generate Letter
Click "Generate Patient Letter" and wait 30-60 seconds while the AI processes your notes. The first generation may take slightly longer as the model loads.
Step 4: Run Safety Check (Optional but Recommended)
After your letter is generated, click "Run Safety Check" to verify accuracy:
- Factual Errors: Detects incorrect information that contradicts the clinical notes
- Medical Safety Warnings: Flags medication errors, dosage issues, or dangerous interactions
- AI Additions: Shows information the AI added that wasn't in your original notes
- Omissions: Highlights important information that was left out
- Modifications: Identifies significant changes in phrasing that might alter meaning
Risk Levels:
- π’ LOW: No significant issues found - letter is safe to send
- π‘ MEDIUM: Some concerns detected - review recommended
- π΄ HIGH: Critical issues found - do not send without fixing
You can select specific issues using checkboxes and click "Apply Selected Fixes" to automatically correct them.
Step 5: Edit & Refine
After generation (and safety check), you have multiple options:
- Direct Editing: Click in the letter text and make manual changes
- Apply Fixes: Use checkboxes to select issues from safety check and apply corrections
- Regenerate: Adjust any of the 6 formatting rules and click "Regenerate Letter with New Rules"
You can regenerate as many times as needed until you're satisfied with the result.
Step 6: Download
Click "Download Letter" to save as a Microsoft Word document (.docx) ready to print or email to your patient.
π‘οΈ Validate My Letter Mode
Already wrote a patient letter? Upload it along with your clinical notes to check for accuracy and safety issues.
When to Use This Mode:
- You wrote a patient letter yourself and want to verify its accuracy
- You have a template letter and want to check it against specific clinical notes
- You received a letter from another source and need to validate it
- You want a second opinion on a letter before sending to patient

Step 3: Run Safety Check
Once both files are uploaded, click "Run Safety Check" to validate your letter. The AI will analyze:
- Factual Accuracy: Compares letter content against clinical notes to find errors or contradictions
- Medical Safety: Checks for medication errors, dosage mistakes, or dangerous interactions
- Completeness: Identifies critical information that may be missing
- Consistency: Flags discrepancies between notes and letter
Step 4: Review Results
The safety check provides a comprehensive report with:
- Overall Risk Level: LOW (safe), MEDIUM (review needed), or HIGH (critical issues)
- Detailed Issues: Each problem is categorized and rated by severity
- Checkboxes: Select which issues you want to fix automatically
Step 5: Apply Fixes (Optional)
Use checkboxes to select specific issues, then click "Apply Selected Fixes". The AI will update your letter to address only the issues you selected.
Step 6: Edit & Download
Make any additional manual edits, then click "Download Letter" to save the corrected version as a .docx file.
